This means that there is no limit to the amount of time you can
spend online with your World Verge account. As when using any
Internet service, you may incur phone charges for the use of World
Verge access numbers depending on your location and local calling
plan. Please check with your local phone company to make sure that
the access number you select from the World Verge list is local
call for your calling area.

Do you have a 30 day free trial?
We do not offer a free trial month. Part of the reason other
Internet providers have to charge so much is because the customers
are paying for all of those "free" accounts. With World
Verge, busy signals are highly uncommon, with users receiving
optimal Internet service at the lowest failure rates in the
industry today. Not only do we provide reliable access to the
Internet, but 9 out of 10 of our customers experience a faster
connection speed than their previous ISP.

Can I use my World Verge account to access the Internet while traveling?
One of the most useful tools World Verge offers is our All Access
dialer. Most ISP's will have you choose a handful of numbers in or
around your home city for you to access the Internet with, and
when you travel, you have to call or email customer support to get
another number to access from a different city or part of the
country. With World Verge's All Access dialer, you can view every
access number available nationwide, so you instantly can pick the
one local to you, no matter where you are. To make
sure you are choosing a local number, it is always best to contact
the local telephone company in that area.
How Can I get the All Access dialer?
You can download the All Access dailer from this link:
http://worldverge.com/dialers/worldverge_dialer.exe
With this dialer, existing customers can choose any of the available access numbers nationwide to connect to the Internet with their World Verge account.
This is especially useful when traveling to find out if there is a local number available for a friend.

World Verge Family Filter
What is the Family Filter?
World Verge brings you technology developed by Dansguardian in
a filter that blocks web pages containing material that is deemed
inappropriate by the administrators. The filter not
only blocks websites with 'bad' URL's (web addresses), but it
'reads' the content of each page to be sure that it is
safe.
How does the filter protect my children?
When you choose the Family Filter service from World Verge, the
pages that are viewable from your computer or any computer on your
network will be sent through a filter to make sure that the
content is appropriate for your children. The filter
assesses the actual content of pages based on many methods
including phrase matching, PICS filtering and URL filtering.
Can the filter be disabled?
The Family Filter cannot be disabled on your end. It must be
de-activated by World Verge, making it impossible for your
children to access forbidden websites. In order for
the Filter to be deactivated, you must cancel you filtered access
service with World Verge. If you wish to have cancel you must email cancel@worldverge.com
at least 5 days prior to your billing date to avoid being charged
for the next month. You will then be assigned to a new
unfiltered Internet access account. Your Internet access will
remain filtered until the end of the month in which your
cancelled, and then at the beginning of the next month it will
switch to unfiltered.
What is filtered with the Family Filter?
The Family Filter will check for pages that contain profanities
and phrases often associated with pornography and other
undesirable content. It also monitors domain names and checks them
against a huge list of 'blacklisted' sites.
What if I need to view a site that has been disallowed?
Since the Filter cannot be disabled or modified by you (or your
children), the account holder would have to contact customer
support to submit a request for a blocked webpage.
Are chat rooms filtered out?
The Family Filter will filter the web site that the chat room is
located on and determine whether or not it is appropriate, but
cannot read the text entered in the chat box.
How do I cancel my Family Filter?
If you wish to have cancel your filtered Internet access through World
Verge, you must email billing@worldverge.com
at least 5 days prior to your billing date to avoid being charged
for the next month. You will then be assigned to a new
unfiltered internet access account. Your Internet access will
remain filtered until the end of the month in which your
cancelled, and then at the beginning of the next month it will
switch to unfiltered.

Email
Can I access my other email addresses through World Verge?
Yes! World Verge gives you complete access to the Internet
enabling you to get online and check your email for all email
addresses and accounts that you use, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, and
MSN. And don't forget - with World Verge you also get 5 free email
accounts.
What is the storage and attachment limit on email accounts?
By default, every email account comes with 5MB of storage. This
means that at any give point you are entitled to have 5MB of files
on our mail server. This also means that the maximum attachment
size you can receive is also 5MB (there is no limit on the size of
sending attachments). However, if you are using our WebMail
program as your mail email method, and you have emails stored on
our mail server taking up disk space, the maximum attachment size
will be decreased by the amount of disk space the stored emails
are taking up. For example, if you have 1MB of emails residing on
our mail server via the WebMail program, the maximum file size
that you could receive would be 4MB. On a case-by-case basis, we
can increase the size of a user's mailbox to 10MB. If this is a
requirement of yours, please send your request with an explanation
of why you need the additional space.

What are the differences between WebMail and using an email
program such as Outlook Express?
There are some important differences between using WebMail and POP
email (email that is downloadable into an email program such as
Outlook, Outlook Express, Entourage, MacMail, etc.). WebMail is
email that is kept and held on our server to be viewed via our
WebMail interface (the 'check email' link on our home page). This
is very convenient because it allows you to view your email from
any Internet connection in the world. This is similar to how AOL,
Hotmail, Yahoo, etc. allow you to manage your email. However, it
has certain limitations such as you cannot compose or view
messages while offline, and there are always storage size limits
on the mail box. Some ISPs (not World Verge) even delete your
emails after a certain time period. In contrast, using POP email
with an email program allows you to compose and view offline, and
saves your emails on your computer instead of the ISP mail server.
This allows you to save a much greater amount of emails; plus, if
you ever change ISPs, you will always have those saved emails on
your computer. For all of these reasons, World Verge recommends
that our customers use POP email as their main email management
system, and uses our WebMail interface as a secondary method when traveling
or away from their 'home' computer.
How do I set up my email address in an email program on my computer?
To set up you email in Outlook Express, click
here. To set up you email in Thunderbird, click
here.
If you use a different email program, the settings will
be the same:
If your email account ends with @worldverge.com- Incoming

full email address, such as john@worldverge.com
If your email account ends with @cognifast.com- Incoming

Can I access my World Verge email away from home?
Yes! It's easy for World Verge members to check their email from the World Wide Web. Just go to
http://my.worldverge.com and click on the link to Check Email
under the Main Links section. You can get your World Verge email anywhere Internet access is available!
How do I manage multiple email accounts?
Within Outlook Express, there is a feature called 'Identities'
that allows you to keep multiple email accounts separate. From the
'File' menu, go to 'Identities', then to 'Add New Identity', and
follow the prompts to set up your new Identities (eg., 'His' and
'Her' Identities). Make sure to configure the email address that
you would like as part of that Identity (eg., his@worldverge.com).
Then you can go to 'File', then 'Switch Identities' to configure
the email address for that Identity (eg., her@worldverge.com).
Once the Identities have been set up, you can go back and forth
between them to keep your email accounts separate.

How can I minimize my disconnects?
Our network providers have a hard limit of 4 hours as the session
length to avoid 'dedicated' connections and protect the surfing
experience of the majority of users. This means that the network
will disconnect you if you have been online for 4 hours straight.
After the session disconnects, you will be able to login again
immediately. If your disconnects are happening before the 4 hour
session limit, please try the suggestions below. Because each
Windows-based operating system and email program is a little
different, your options may vary, but we have three suggestions
for you:
-In the Start menu, open Settings and Control Panel.
Click Internet Options.
Click the Connection tab.
Click the Settings button.
Click Advanced.
Uncheck the box next to 'disconnected if idle for (blank) minutes'
and save your settings.
-In Outlook/Outlook Express, go to the Tools menu and down to
Options. Somewhere in there (again, it will depend on the
version), there may a setting to 'Disconnect after
sending/receiving'. Make sure this is UNCHECKED and save your
settings.
-While you are still in Outlook/Outlook Express, go again to
the Tools menu and down to Options. Look for an option to 'Send
and receive every __ minutes.' Change this options to '10', and
save your settings.
